Super fun times at @spraycitywalls Anime Night!! 8ft x 8ft fully aerosol mural of Radical Edward and Ein on the float, painted in under 4 hours. Where my Cowboy Bebop fans at? Probably no surprise I’m a big fan of Ed.

Coordinated a bit beforehand with @vapor_poet_rsa to make a mini prodo out of it, and he really slayed his Spike and character bars! Everyone did such an amazing job!! Thanks to @clear0ner and @nickydavis for inviting me out!!

When my @ftkatx crew hit me up to go paint at the same moment I was learning of your passing through my Huffman girl posse, it felt like a little nudge from the universe to throw you up. We were both voted Most Creative in 8th grade and I was glad to see that you’d been reconnecting with art over the past several years. It’s been a wild ass year. I feel like I say that every year, but anywho. 🤣 I traveled and painted in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Missouri (and of course at home in Austin) this year. Slayed giant walls in some kickass @ftkatx graffiti productions and jams. Painting with the gals was a ton of fun and they are all so hard-working that it really increased the eff out of my endurance, which I am so grateful for. Many adventures with Lil Phathead!! Painted 19+ murals and graffiti pieces. Grateful for anyone who gave me an opportunity to get up this year. Been spray painting for four years and love it more every day.

Next year I am looking forward to getting more paid jobs! I had a few small scale and digital commissions, but would love to book some big mural gigs in 2025. Hit me up if you got walls. Especially if you’ve got opportunities in New Orleans, on a library, or on an aquarium! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Wishing you a Very Merry Alien Cutie-mas!! Lil Bloo and Lil Phathead have donned their gay apparel to help the winter cardinal deliver gifts to all the woodland critters!! This was a 12’x8’ aerosol mural for the @artintheheart.htx Merry Mural Fest in Houston this past weekend. Thanks to @stay_colorful_roni (and team) and @mr_rusto for the space to create and the custom mugs with treats! All the artists were so skilled, very inspiring to paint around, and so wonderful to hang out with.

As you can see from the reference sheet, I decided to freestyle on the background to weave @world_of_cease and @loscoloresdevanessa ‘s backgrounds into my scene. Thanks to @bombitimprints on having every shade of @montana_colors so I could eyeball that exact match on the fly! 🪽oh yeah and thanks to @muralsupplyco for my paint pick up needs before I left! The little pine sapling is based off our tree at home. 🥰

I also got to have a couple of chill days spending time with @paleopagan89 & her new babe and @iamrunning & his wee ones (plus bonus Weasel!) It was really nice.

Remembering Leslie was a piece I did a couple of weekends ago at the @bringbacktheweird homecoming event. So much fun and met a lot of cool people like @gothess.jasmine and @the6thstsnake . I was beyond honored to have been crowned Sovereign of Strange. 👑 I can’t wait for what this crew has planned for future initiatives to bring back the weird to Austin!!! I feel like Austin lost a lot of its sparkle when Leslie left us back in 2012. Living in Austin since 2005, I was surprised at how many people hadn’t heard of Leslie Cochran or the work he did to support queer culture in the city. He was a massive advocate for the unhoused population and even ran for mayor. Everyone who met him knew what a kind and open person he was. Always willing to take a photo and share a joke or story with anyone who approached him on the street. As Austin becomes increasingly corporate, his quirky energy is something that is surely missed. What’s your favorite memory of Leslie?

Ran away to San Antonio for the weekend and painted a giant portrait of @bjork , which was basically going back in time and giving my younger self a little kiss on the forehead. The little me who wondered why she was born so strange. Why she yearned for something so impractical as what I am doing today. Who saw Kristi Yamaguchi skate to It’s Oh So Quiet and immediately went and bought her first CD, Post, which started a life long love of Bjork’s music. Music that continued to be the soundtrack to so many moments in my life, speaking directly to my weird little heart and my weird little feelings.
.
Between using my printed reference and listening to the entire Bjork casette tape collection my sister @derpsicles gifted me on the tape deck that my partner gifted me, I focused on having a very analog experience. Unplugging from the very triggering news cycle (as a survivor of restrained assault, coercion, narcissistic manipulation, and men taking advantage of me while unconscious, this shit ain’t cute). We focused on the positive present. Spending time enjoying family style meals with the @ftkatx crew at our AirBnB. Making sure my homies were fed and watered. Laughing with and gassing up the other amazing local lady artists. Chatting and sharing stickers with the community who came out.

Anyways, you won’t find me on some “Artists, it’s our time to get to work” type shih. It’s not the artists’ job to fix this. Most of us already have multiple jobs and are scraping to afford to live. Struggling does not create better art, safety and security does. Over half the country chose for things to get way worse for most of us, unless of course you’re in the billionaire class. And even if you’re in the billionaire class, an uninhabitable planet is still uninhabitable.

Valkyrie Dawn, sibling to Wisteria Moon, was the cosmic creature I summoned for Astronox this year!! @astronoxevents is always such a magical experience. I get inspired creating around so many other insanely skilled artists in attendance, reconnect with festival goers who’ve been in past years, and connect with many friendly loving new people (and Phantoes the cat who I only got video of). Bruh, I got to see Juno Reactor… twice. Younger me was… I don’t even know how to describe what this was like for my younger self, but it was frikkin cool.

Quick 2-day portal opening at @lustre_pearl_east last Friday and Saturday. I call this piece Wisteria Moon, inspired by our local springs and Texas native plants (wisteria, juniper, lantana, fanwort). The moon was done in the same tones I’d use to color a pearl because what is a moon if not an illustrious pearl in the sky. Honestly, this is the first time I had the chance to paint virgin cinderblock and I was stoked on the opportunity to do a breakthrough wall, so I wanted to do something that spoke to my prettier, more surreal art style. Bringing the peaceful, mystical vibes to the patio peeps.

It’s been a wild ass year. I feel like I say that every year, but anywho. 🤣 I traveled and painted in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Missouri (and of course at home in Austin) this year. Slayed giant walls in some kickass @ftkatx graffiti productions and jams. Painting with the gals was a ton of fun and they are all so hard-working that it really increased the eff out of my endurance, which I am so grateful for. Many adventures with Lil Phathead!! Painted 19+ murals and graffiti pieces. Grateful for anyone who gave me an opportunity to get up this year. Been spray painting for four years and love it more every day.

Next year I am looking forward to getting more paid jobs! I had a few small scale and digital commissions, but would love to book some big mural gigs in 2025. Hit me up if you got walls. Especially if you’ve got opportunities in New Orleans, on a library, or on an aquarium! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Wishing you a Very Merry Alien Cutie-mas!! Lil Bloo and Lil Phathead have donned their gay apparel to help the winter cardinal deliver gifts to all the woodland critters!! This was a 12’x8’ aerosol mural for the @artintheheart.htx Merry Mural Fest in Houston this past weekend. Thanks to @stay_colorful_roni (and team) and @mr_rusto for the space to create and the custom mugs with treats! All the artists were so skilled, very inspiring to paint around, and so wonderful to hang out with.

As you can see from the reference sheet, I decided to freestyle on the background to weave @world_of_cease and @loscoloresdevanessa ‘s backgrounds into my scene. Thanks to @bombitimprints on having every shade of @montana_colors so I could eyeball that exact match on the fly! 🪽oh yeah and thanks to @muralsupplyco for my paint pick up needs before I left! The little pine sapling is based off our tree at home. 🥰

I also got to have a couple of chill days spending time with @paleopagan89 & her new babe and @iamrunning & his wee ones (plus bonus Weasel!) It was really nice.

I feel like Austin lost a lot of its sparkle when Leslie left us back in 2012. Living in Austin since 2005, I was surprised at how many people hadn’t heard of Leslie Cochran or the work he did to support queer culture in the city. He was a massive advocate for the unhoused population and even ran for mayor. Everyone who met him knew what a kind and open person he was. Always willing to take a photo and share a joke or story with anyone who approached him on the street. As Austin becomes increasingly corporate, his quirky energy is something that is surely missed. What’s your favorite memory of Leslie?

Ran away to San Antonio for the weekend and painted a giant portrait of @bjork , which was basically going back in time and giving my younger self a little kiss on the forehead. The little me who wondered why she was born so strange. Why she yearned for something so impractical as what I am doing today. Who saw Kristi Yamaguchi skate to It’s Oh So Quiet and immediately went and bought her first CD, Post, which started a life long love of Bjork’s music. Music that continued to be the soundtrack to so many moments in my life, speaking directly to my weird little heart and my weird little feelings.

Between using my printed reference and listening to the entire Bjork casette tape collection my sister @derpsicles gifted me on the tape deck that my partner gifted me, I focused on having a very analog experience. Unplugging from the very triggering news cycle (as a survivor of restrained assault, coercion, narcissistic manipulation, and men taking advantage of me while unconscious, this shit ain’t cute). We focused on the positive present. Spending time enjoying family style meals with the @ftkatx crew at our AirBnB. Making sure my homies were fed and watered. Laughing with and gassing up the other amazing local lady artists. Chatting and sharing stickers with the community who came out.

Anyways, you won’t find me on some “Artists, it’s our time to get to work” type shih. It’s not the artists’ job to fix this. Most of us already have multiple jobs and are scraping to afford to live. Struggling does not create better art, safety and security does. Over half the country chose for things to get way worse for most of us, unless of course you’re in the billionaire class. And even if you’re in the billionaire class, an uninhabitable planet is still uninhabitable.

Valkyrie Dawn, sibling to Wisteria Moon, was the cosmic creature I summoned for Astronox this year!! @astronoxevents is always such a magical experience. I get inspired creating around so many other insanely skilled artists in attendance, reconnect with festival goers who’ve been in past years, and connect with many friendly loving new people (and Phantoes the cat who I only got video of). Bruh, I got to see Juno Reactor… twice. Younger me was… I don’t even know how to describe what this was like for my younger self, but it was frikkin cool.

Quick 2-day portal opening at @lustre_pearl_east last Friday and Saturday. I call this piece Wisteria Moon, inspired by our local springs and Texas native plants (wisteria, juniper, lantana, fanwort). The moon was done in the same tones I’d use to color a pearl because what is a moon if not an illustrious pearl in the sky. Honestly, this is the first time I had the chance to paint virgin cinderblock and I was stoked on the opportunity to do a breakthrough wall, so I wanted to do something that spoke to my prettier, more surreal art style. Bringing the peaceful, mystical vibes to the patio peeps.
