Referral Center

As an artist and multi-preneur, I use a lot of brands and services to make my life easier or better. Due to my glowing social media and SEO presence, some of these brands have offered for me to join their affiliate programs. It’s gotten to the point where I have a hard time keeping track of the links, so here’s a page of all my affiliate referrals.

QuickBooks Self-Employed

What’s so great about it?

I started working for myself again back in 2017 and a lot of my success with being able to financially keep my head above water can be attributed to QuickBooks. It’s a great option when your business is not in a position to hire a CPA. Here’s what I like about it:

  • Automatically imports data from bank and credit card accounts so one can just press a button to claim a purchase as a business expense.
  • The phone app uses your phone’s location services to track your mileage, which like the expense tracking, makes it easy to click a button to claim a business trip.
  • Reminders and calculations for quarterly estimated tax payments. Non-payment of quarterly tax payments comes with a hefty fee and that plus the compounded total of those payments due can be an extremely unpleasant (and unaffordable) surprise come tax season.
  • Easy-to-use invoicing with clear call outs on overdue invoices with a button to send a reminder. Sending a receipt is just as easy. Clients can pay these invoices with bank transfer, credit card, or PayPal.
  • Ability to quickly generate profit-and-loss statements for proof of income, when you need to rent a house or take out a loan.
  • Since they’re both made by Intuit, data imports into TurboTax super efficiently, so you can do your taxes faster.

I receive a cash back reward (multiple tiers dependent on the level of QuickBooks subscription) once the referral has been a paid subscriber for 60 days.

Denik Sketchbooks

What’s so great about it?

I’ve been using a Denik sketchbook for several years now. The paper is smooth and THICC. It’s great for graphite and colored pencil, but also can handle inks, felt tip pens, paint markers, and various paints without bleeding through. Copic is the only kind of marker I had issues with bleeding through, but you need paper that is too thick to make sense in a sketchbook for that. They also have custom printing so you can put your own artwork onto the cover of your sketchbook!

I make 5% commission on every referral conversion.

Just bookmarking this here. Ordered some drawers and will report back. <3

So far it looks like I just get free merchandise.

Disclaimer on Affiliate Marketing Standards and Practices

I will NEVER recommend a brand or service I do not use and haven’t vetted personally. As someone with a background in UX design, I am constantly bummed at the state of the web being an ad-cluster spam-fest nightmare.

No one likes being sold to. Having a trusted friend send an affiliate link or worse trying to sneak it in under the radar can feel super scammy and like that advertising nightmare is encroaching on your social life. But, if I’d be recommending a product regardless, why not get a little bounce back for my word-of-mouth marketing, especially when I can get a homie a discount while I am at it? The only way I know how to reconcile this is by being transparent as possible when sharing, so that’s part of why I have created this page.
