Day 3 Froggy Fall prompt is “herb garden.” The only pairing better than basil and tomato (frog) is my brain and the massive serotonin dump I experienced after drawing the wink on their face, realizing it brought them to life with “sweet old gardener with vast wisdom” energy.

Wowee wow wow what a fun night!! Participated in my first ever @beatsessionsatx 2v2 battle on Monday night, with my amazing paint bud @artxsire, against the reigning champs @itscandykuo & @kimieflores.
.
It was a close one! We lost by a mere $11 against two absolute legends in the industry AND the MC said it was also the first all-female 2v2 battle in Beat Sessions history, so I still feel like a winner.
.
We painted a whole 12’x8’ wall in an hour and a half, and literally 50mins in, I looked at Sire and we were like, “ok but what’s left? Cutbacks and clean-up?” Seriously, best speed painting partner to have by my side! Also, having my best pals and their partners out to cheer me on was the cherry on top of an all around beautiful evening. 🥰

In total, this piece took somewhere around 15-16 hours, most of which I livestreamed. I started with spray paints for the background and some foreground colors. Then I painted the piece using acrylics on most of it and Posca markers for the sacred geometry line work in the background.

What a wild experience! Graduated from @utaustintx in 2008, but this was the closest I’d ever been to the stadium before a game. It went by like a blur, but I was super happy with what I got up in 3.5 hours and had so much fun collabing with @daaru_art & @jlynnm17 !! Thank you @hopecampaign and @utaustintx for having us out!

It was a delight to see so many people getting pictures in front of the piece and taking videos and pics of us while we were painting. Everyone had so many nice things to say, which made the day all the more rewarding. If I am slow to respond, just know it’s because I am sore af today (the thigh burn is REAL) and on a little quiet time cloud because the adrenaline was intense yesterday, but oh so fun!

Modified M5Stick-C into a very tiny BMO, commissio

Modified M5Stick-C into a very tiny BMO, commissioned by my friend and microelectronics enthusiast Mike! Used epoxy putty to smooth out the button, spray painted with malachite green, drew the buttons on with Posca markers, and then clear coated the entire piece.

These M5Sticks are built off an ESP32-PICO (I used an ESP32 chip set to build out those LED clouds at the @sunshinehouseblanco ) so they have Bluetooth, WiFi, and IR capabilities, but they also have a bunch of other goodies built in like a little full-color screen, accelerometer, and microphone. It’s a pretty neat gadget and I will be getting one for myself to play around with some time!

Fun times at the Oh My Goth @fofgalleryshow last night! Spray painted this 8’x8’ half-and-half portrait of Eric Draven from The Crow (left side) and Nancy Downs from The Craft (right side), in a style loosely inspired by Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

This was the first time I’ve felt super comfortable bringing my black pen illustration style into an aerosol work. As always with live painting gigs, I can see where I could have improved under different conditions, but I feel like all the practicing I have been doing has been paying off and my line work is becoming more deliberate.
.
Overall great night with really good people and I appreciate the wall space to paint and little extra confidence boost I could use at this moment in my life.

Since 1997, @titosvodka has rescued over 100 distillery dogs and, through the @vodkafordogpeople program, has worked with thousands of animal-focused nonprofits to help pups find their people. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Tito’s commissioned a portrait of one of those distillery dogs, Gus, done in aerosol paint on 3’x3’ birch panel.

This is probably 8-10 hours of work crammed down into a minute. There is a slower version of the video on my YouTube (including a couple of lil blooper moments), but you’ll see from this one that I completely had to re-do the top half of the face and even made some changes after I was “done” and reshot the final pans and close ups. This was a fun project and I was so happy I was able to capture Gus correctly by the end of it!
