Original, matted and framed, The High Priestess artwork from my Krystalline Kweens I tarot series, originally debuted at the Chocolate and Art Show in 2018.
This 8″x10″ pen and ink portrait represents intuition, sacred knowledge, divine feminine, and the subconscious mind. The high priestess sits in front of a pomegranate-patterned veil, reflecting Persephone and matching the Empress’s gown, symbolizing abundance and the divine feminine. This veil provides a shield between the conscious and unconscious, keeping the uninitiated at bay. Selenite and obsidian pillars stand in juxtaposition beside her, marked with B (Boaz) and J (Jachin), creating an entrance to this sacred space. Knowledge and acceptance of the duality of darkness and light are required to enter this mystical temple. The triple moon is reflected in her elfin ears and aquamarine crown, as well as the labradorite symbol centered on her third eye, symbolizing her divine knowledge. She sits on a crescent moon with sacred book and orbuculum in hand, connecting her to the divine feminine, her intuition, the subconscious mind, and the natural cycles of the moon.
I chose my childhood best friend, Bibi Musachia, to represent this card because she taught me about tapping into the mysticism present in our lives. She helped me connect to my Higher Self through lessons on the moon phases and their effect on growth cycles. She has always strongly listened to and led with her intuition. In this card, she rules from a Hawaiian black sand beach where she spent her honeymoon connecting with the flow of the natural world. As a vintage seller, she helps people embrace their feminine energies through their wardrobe. She strives to live her life with compassion and empathy, constantly in touch with her inner truth.
