This hand-decoupaged matchbox features The Star artwork from my Krystalline Kweens I tarot series.
A print of the original pen and ink tarot card illustration covers the front of the box, representing hope, faith, purpose, renewal, and spirituality. The Star shows a woman at the waters edge with a chalice representing the subconscious in her left and the conscious in her right. As she hovers slowly suspended, drawing the night sky, one chalice returns water to water rippling the waves of the subconscious mind, while the other pours onto the earth, creating new growth and channeling into 5 rivulets symbolizing the senses. In the background, a red ibis roosts in the tree of thought. A halo of azurite encircles her head and grow from her ears, while sodalite stones decorate her cape and gown. With her third-eye open, stars form at the end of each azurite point representing the core of one’s being surrounded by 7 chakras. The back side is covered with gold foiling and approximately 18 wooden matches are contained within.
