This was my second year painting at the Astronox Festival and this year, did an evolution of my Space Whale character jumping through a portal to another dimension.
I’m so grateful to be a part of this festival uplifting so many different types of visual, auditory, and performance arts. It’s such a beautiful gathering of creatives.
This 16’x8′ with a 4’x4′ fin extension was painted over the first 3 days of the 2024 Astronox Festival. Ever resourceful, I cut the fin extension out of 1/4″ plywood with a box cutter, after some miss-matched jigsaw blades rendered that the only other option out in the field. I love how this addition came out and provided a little platform for anyone wanting to take a picture with the wall!
Frogman Hieroglyphic Rusto Challenge
While I was at the festival, a guy came up and said he had some black lights and clear plexiglass panel walls in his truck and offered to give them to me to jam on. He even offered a few cans of fluorescent Rustoleum. I told him if he’d set it up, I’d paint it, so he did.
I came up with the below 24’x6′ piece on the fly and it took me less than an hour to paint. The audience really liked the techno arcade vibes and people came up to take pictures with it as soon as I was done.
I love interacting with audiences and creating memorable experiences for attendees at any event. Get in touch via my Mural Rates page to start the conversation about your next event today!
