Trinket-Pilled Graffiti Production at Paint Louis 2025

I had the honor of leading and directing the FTK Crew & Friends 2025 Paint Louis production, Trinket-Pilled. We were the only all-female crew on the 3 miles of the flood wall this year, so we were proud to represent femme culture so hard.

Given this year’s rise of keychain stuffies, kandy, and decora charms, it felt like the appropriate time to go hyper girlpop with it. Since it’s a graffiti fest and we had some heavy hitters, we also threw our hardest pieces with a side of cute.

Everyone did an amazing job working together and pulling their weight on this production. I was so grateful for everyone’s help. From buffing to ground textures to the clouds and lightning and charm rain, no part of the background had only one person working on it.

Over the three days of the Paint Louis festival, we transformed this 95′ x 16′ wall. So many young girls and women-alike excitedly ran up to our wall waving their Labubus and charmed keychains seeing themselves in this wall. It was so beautiful to connect to the ladies of St. Louis like this.

Production Leadership and Planning

We started planning in mid-July. I had an idea for everyone’s graffiti pieces to look like rubber keychains with charms hanging off the sides and everyone agreed that would look neat. I started out with sending a quick wireframe sketch of how we could break up the wall and a vision board to help get the team’s creative juices flowing.

Following that, I created a color palette sheet and brought it to multiple stores for color matching across the Montana Cans, Montana Colors, Rustoleum, Sherwin-Williams, and Behr paint brands so everyone could get as close as possible. Forever a lover of democratized design, I had multiple options for the colors for our graffiti pieces and put them through a couple rounds of voting.

Prior to the event, I printed out separate reference sheets for everyone on the team so they could help out as much as they were able with the background and other elements. I was so proud of how much everyone followed direction and worked together on this production. Everyone also did an amazing job supporting each other in the AirBnB and at the wall. Could not have asked for a better experience with this team!!
